Home Care Aide Certification

Basic program need to work in adult family homes, assisted living facilities, as an in home caregiver and more. You will receive hands on skills training and receive your certification at the end of the course.

Bridge & Alternative Bridge
Accelerated CNA Program

The Alternative “Bridge” Program is a three-day, 24-hour education program for the Home Care Aid Certified. This course builds on the 75-hours of education the Home Care Aide has already completed and teaches the student the remaining standards of practice and competencies needed to become a Nursing Assistant Certified.

BLS CPR Certification

The AHA’s BLS Course is designed for healthcare professionals and other personnel who need to know how to perform CPR and other basic cardiovascular life support skills in a wide variety of in-facility and prehospital settings.

The AHA’s BLS course trains participants to promptly recognize several life-threatening emergencies, give high-quality chest compressions, deliver appropriate ventilations and provide early use of an AED. Reflects science and education from the American Heart Association Guidelines Update for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC).

Nurse Delegation & Diabetic Nurse Delegation Course

The Nurse Delegation Program, under Washington State law, allows nursing assistants working in certain settings to perform certain tasks--such as administration of prescription medications or blood glucose testing--normally performed only by licensed nurses. A registered nurse must teach and supervise the nursing assistant, as well as provide nursing assessments of the patient's condition.

State Specialty Dementia Class

The Specialized Dementia Care Support Program offers providers workshops and scholarships to conferences that present information and best practices about dementia care.

Training areas are identified through an on-going dialogue between dementia care providers and Home and Community Services and Residential Care Services’ staff.

State Specialty
Mental Health Class

Approved by the Washington State Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS), this training program in Olympia and online provides certification in Mental Health Specialty for long-term care workers, including managers (there is no longer a separate class for managers) across Washington state.

State-approved Mental Health course curriculum covers:

  • mental disorders

  • compassionate and trauma-informed care

  • supports for wellness

  • getting help and self-care

  • suicide prevention

  • communication dynamics

  • boundaries

  • crisis management

  • approaching behaviors as caregivers provide assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs).
